"I Can Have Cheezburger" was not exclusively a web site, it was also available on various e-books and in print. It was one of the most visited Internet blogs of its kind, receiving as many as 800,000 daily hits. A large number of users were from Japan and other Asian countries such as Korea and Taiwan. Although the subject matter and offerings are familiar to most Internet surfers, the nature of the visual content was somewhat surprising and innovative at the time. While it still features cats and other felines, it seems that the primary attraction was the videos.

"I Can Have Cheezburger" was the brainchild of two people who had very different ideas about how to design a website. The web developer was a very creative and colorful person, while the cat lover enjoyed the visual content and the social interaction possibilities. As with anything popular, there were some people who either didn't get it or thought it was a good idea. Since there was a high traffic, the blog quickly established itself as a top Internet site.

The subject of cats evokes an emotional response. When viewed from a personal standpoint, cats can evoke feelings of sadness, joy, fear, anger, surprise and happiness. Since "I Can Have Cheezburger" promoted cat ownership and showed people that they could be successful at being cats, it became a hit. Many people started to write blogs about their cats and how they were related to I Can Have Cheezburger. The site eventually went live in January of 2021 and is now one of the largest blogs about cats on the Internet. It's popularity has led to a sequel: I Can Have Cheezburger II.

One thing you may notice about "I Can Have Cheezburger" and its predecessor websites is the similarity of cat names. These are all references to cats, except for the cats themselves. In addition, all the content and slogans seem to revolve around cats. If you're familiar with online cat videos, you'll see that they almost always have the subject of cats involved. In fact, the second website offers a daily video updates that features cats and their antics, and is probably the closest thing to a real-life documentary you'll ever see.

If you look back in history and the evolution of internet Memes, you'll see that the use of cute captions became a staple of internet communication. Funny captions aren't just used for "cutie" quotes anymore. You'll find captions in all sorts of different situations on the internet now. For example, if you're looking for funny stuff on Craigslist, you'll see captions about cats often. You'll also find some very cute icanhascheezburger style icanhascheezburger pics (scary cats, if you can guess). This is where the idea of icanhascheezburger (cats rolling around in an icky way) began to take hold.

A lot of things have happened since I Can How's Cheezburger, except for cats. Some cities are even trying to sue the owners of I Can How's Cheezburger for copyright infringement. Right now, according to the laws of California, a business can use three words or more that describe the goods or services that they offer to describe their product. A corporation can use one word, but not both, and so can individuals. However, a website can only use two words. So far, the law seems to favor websites, so it would be interesting to see what happens in the future.
